Milwaukee Job Corps Center’s Students Participate in Universal Safety Week

Students and staff of the Milwaukee Job Corps Center worked cooperatively to recognize Universal Safety Week (June 11-15). Throughout the week, students and staff participated in safety drills, presentations from the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee Fire Department, and other activities that were scheduled to educate and bring awareness to the safety practices on center. In addition to the various activities, the center hosted an appreciation luncheon inviting members of local organizations who are dedicated to the safety of the community. In a mid-week student assembly, students were able to convey the safety practices in their specific trades through cleverly created and detailed videos and presentations. The students’ pride in their trades was evident as each trade made their presentation to the student body. Students also competed in a Trade Safety Quiz Bowl answering questions about trade safety in a competitely enjoyable environment. Overall, the week turned out to be a profitable educational experience for both students and staff.
