Nine New Hampshire Job Corps students applied for the Child & Family Services run Youth Advisory Board. The board’s mission is “making a difference for youth in care by voicing opinions for positive change.” The YAB members will have 2-3 community service opportunities per month plus a monthly board meeting.
This will gives Job Corps students and other members of the board the opportunity to get involved with and be aware of what’s going on in the community around them.
During the first meeting on Wednesday, April 20th, students were able to meet other fellow members and go over the rules and expectations of the board. The board’s first goal is to expand the program and invite other young adults to join. The members are also working on a slogan to better define what the board stands for. Student are excited for the opportunity to shape the community.
