On Wednesday, February 3rd, three New Hampshire Job Corps SGA students, along with Business & Community Director Cassie Gudek, and Peer Leader Coordinator Carmen Jimenez, kicked off a monthly radio segment entitled: “Job Corps Journey” on Manchester Public Radio, 95.3fm WMNH.
This month’s segment, (you can listen to it here: http://wmnh.podbean.com/e/nh-job-corp-center-wmnh004/?token=faff18263f12f4083b42675d1a8fec23) featured student interviews with: Angel Karpel, Mario Rivera, and Andrew Sorrentino. Job Corps Peer Leader Coordinator, Carmen Jimenez, was also interviewed, and shared her experiences in working with this age group, in this environment, and her ideas on enhancing student-community engagement both off and on center.
February’s segment, the very first in a monthly series we hope to continue indefinitely, focused on getting to know our students. Strudents were asked what their transition into Job Corps life was like, where they would be without Job Corps, and their advice to young adults struggling to find their path.
The next installment of “Job Corps Journey” will be on March 23rd. If you are a Manchester Job Corps student interested in being interviewed, or contributing topic ideas, please connect with your Student Government.
