New Hampshire Job Corps 1st Community Relations Council Meeting

On Thursday, December 3rd, NH Job Corps Center hosted its first quarterly Community Relations Council meeting. Every seat in our restaurant style culinary café was taken as 37 community members, staff and students enjoyed a delicious four course meal prepared in part by our Culinary students, and served by our Hospitality students.

Guests remarked on the professionalism of our students, the beautifully presented tables, and of course, the flavorful & gorgeously plated food. Center Director Tamer Koheil gave opening remarks, thanking the community for their participation and support. Business & Community Liaison Director, Cassie Gudek, spoke to the importance of this council, and how creative partnerships among the community will help drive us all towards the same goals of developing skilled, confident graduates and improving the workforce in New Hampshire. Admissions Counselor, Jamie Bryant spoke to the outreach efforts, and our ongoing enrollment needs. Academics Manager Joan Gallagher, Career Technical Trades Manager Beth Knox, and Recreational Supervisor Danielle Merril all gave an overview and update of their departments and fielded questions from the community.

The meal concluded with coffee and eclairs made from scratch and coffee.
Many powerful connections were made among community colleges, law enforcement, social services, charitable organizations and employers. Some community members present were representatives from: My Turn, Citizens Bank, Manchester Community College, Family Promise, Manchester School Board members, Pinkerton Academy, and many others.
