Students from the hospitality and culinary trades visited the 2016 New England Food Show on Monday, March 14 at the Boston Expo and Convention Center. This multi-faceted popular event included the opportunity to meet with vendors, restaurants and purveyors from the entirety of the New England region. Students were able to sample products and attend culinary demonstrations and workshops.
Students watched an exciting Culinary Cook-Off — Three top New England chefs threw down in a heated 45 minute kitchen battle. Chef Adam Kube of Bastille Kitchen took home top honors.
Event Speakers included Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, Chef Nicole Barreira, the Corporate Chef for T-BONES and Cactus Jack’s, and many other restaurateurs and bright culinary minds. Chasity Moore, hospitality student at Job Corps remarked: “I never realized how many vendors are involved in the whole Food Industry, I learned a lot today.”
All students in attendance did an exceptional job representing themselves, their trade and the New Hampshire job Corps Center with professionalism and poise.
