Turning Dreams into Goals

Yunior entered L.A Job Corps in October of 2018 as a minor and need to take Math & Reading classes. Since his enrollment, he has made a 2.4 gain in literacy and 4.7 gain in numeracy. He has also received 2 certifications in Automotive at Maxine Waters Employment Preparation Center through our Career Technical Training Program off center.

Yunior lives in South L.A and enjoys being a Non-Res because it is a short commute to the school he attends for his technical training. Currently, his goal is to become self-sufficient and travel the world in his leisure time when can finally afford to. Although he arrived to L.A Job Corps at 17yrs old he is already projected to exit a few months after his upcoming 19th birthday in October. After a year and a half, Yunior only needs a few more months to complete his career technical training.

Initially having difficulty adjusting to the program’s policies, Yunior is “proud to have stayed in the program”, and aspires to attend college after completing his trade to study engineering.

L.A Job Corps is proud of Yunior and supporting him in attaining his goals.
