Rogelio Meza was born in California but spent much of his younger life living in Mexico. Having lived in Guanajuato, Mexico and completing High School there, Rogelio could not get admitted college in the U.S due to schooling being outside of the U.S.
Looking for alternatives, Rogelio was informed about Job Corps by siblings. Both his brother and sister who graduated from Job Corps recommended the program. Since Rogelio was introduced to auto mechanics as means of revenue in Mexico, he decided to pursue formal Automotive training through L.A Job Corps. On center, Rogelio was a floor officer in his dorm and received accolades for his leadership. The first trade he completed was Office Administration with a swift transition to complete Automotive.
Now Rogelio is headed to Advanced Training at Clearfield Job Corps Center in Utah to become Auto Technician. When asked what he was most proud of during his stay in L.A Job Corps he replied; “I’m really proud of myself because I didn’t expect to succeed here. I know I’ve developed my social skills here because I was initially reserved but now I’m more outgoing”
L.A Job Corps Center is very proud of Rogelio and we can’t wait to hear more about his accomplishments.
