The Student Government members of the Loring Job Corps recently visited the Maine State house and witnessed the State Senate in session as guests of the Honorable Senator Jackson, Jackson met with the student Leaders and discussed the many aspects of Maine laws and how the process is completed from thought to law. In addition the student leaders had the rare opportunity to meet with the Maine Governor, and the Honorable Governor LePage spent some quality one on one time to answer questions and talk about life in the State house to the ups and downs of being a Governor. The Governor even shared pictures of his family with the students as shown in the picture he and Samantha Martin discuss Jamaica where the Governor has a son that he adopted many years earlier. The students enjoyed their day at the state house and walked away with memories that will last a lifetime.
