Home Builders Institute Carpentry program students at Loring Job Corps have been busy with multitude of Community Service Projects. Most recently, in the first week of June the Caribou Chamber of Commerce requested raised garden boxes to be built and filled with soil to grow vegetables. The Chamber is encouraging our youths to become more involved in growing foods, incorporating into healthy lifestyles. This is one of Job Corps goals to be motivators of the “Let Move” initiative. These Garden boxes will include vegetables to be used to make vegetable pizzas! In record time, the students from their instructor Mark Brewer’s class transformed lumber into large raised garden beds for the community!
