Loring Job Corps Center Host 11th Annual “Evening with the North Stars” to thank our supporters

 

In December 1, 2011, the LJCC Center Industry Council (CIC), Community Relations Council (CRC), Work Based Learning partnership and our Congressional and local business supporters attended Loring Job Corps 11th annual “Evening with the North Stars” on Thursday evening. This end of the year meeting/dinner and entertainment event had special recognition of outstanding WBL Partnership, first time award to Hogan Tire of Caribou, Johnny Anderson, Manager (pictured). The Loring Community Citizen Award to ACAP Preschool of Caribou awarded to Ms. Megan Barnes Center Supervisor of Children & Family Centers of Caribou (pictured). This award has been presented annually for the 11th year to a citizen of non-profit agency that has volunteered time, energy and/or resources towards the betterment of Loring Job Corps center’s students and staff. Consequently, their interest and efforts has had a significant positive influence on the well being of the Loring Job Corps center community as a whole. The attendance of over 86 CIC/CRC members, supporters and state representatives being Bernard Ayotte and Peter Edgecomb along with our North Star talent which included our Loring students and local youth talent from Aroostook County. News station WAGM channel 8 aired the event on the evening news and the next morning December 2nd morning news. Natalie Bazinet local reporter of the Aroostook Republican attended as one of our supporters and published a front page article in the Business section of the 12/7/2011 edition of our local newspaper.
