On Wednesday August 24, 2011, the Loring Job Corps Center and the American Red Cross teamed up for a blood drive that was held on center. Our students, staff and local citizens came out in full force to donate blood to this benficial act if charity. According to Julie Blackstone, LJCC purchasing and organizer of the event, “We registered 102 students, collected 68 pints for this blood drive, only reason less than usual donations was due to the fact that American Red Cross staffing was low which did not allow all registered donor to attend in the scheduled timeframe”. Yet on an up side the LJCC students and staff are looking forward to our next hosting of an American Red Cross blood drive in December 2011.
