August 8, 2011 article from Aroostook Republican titled “Featured participation connects students with community” by Natalie Bazinet. Stated Loring Job Corps students were extremely eager to volunteer for Caribou Care’s About Kids extravaganza. The Caribou Chamber requested our students to volunteer for face painting, t-shirt tie-dying, dressing up as clowns and many more activities to entertain children for the day. The article stated “Our students want to be involved with the community because they live here”. There was no shortage of student eager to celebrate with the community by offering their services as skilled face painters, entertainers and being a part of fun activities for children of all ages. The actual event took place August 11, 2011 over 500 youths attended the Fun Days!
