Loring Job Corps Community Industry Council, Community Relations Council, Work Based Learning Partnership annual event of “Evening with the North Stars” a sucess!

A well attended “Evening with the North Stars” event and dinner was held in our Community Center Ballroom over 100 guests including CIC, CRC members, special guest and invited staff members and their family or guest.  A splendid display of appetizers followed by a traditional Thanksgiving dinner prepared by our culinary students, our Culinary Instructor, Wayne Cousin and Lori Schipper Culinary Art CTT Manager was served. The program began with the Post of Colors by Loring Color Guard, MC by Pamela Buck, BCL/WBL Coordinator, followed by Welcoming Remarks & Appreciation, Center update by Interim Center Director Kristie Moir, then a Special Recognitions to Maine Military Authority for Loring’s Community Citizenship Award accepted by Mark Bouchard, Quality Assurance Officer with the assistance of CIC/CRC chairpersons, Pat Zenzius and Connie Sandstrom. This lead into the incredible display of talent from Dashawn Russell, Medical Office support student who sang “Put Your Records On”; seven year old Kennedy Bencivenga , Little Miss Limestone rapped danced to “Boom, Boom, Pow”; Nathaniel Knowles an automotive student played his guitar and sang  “Wonder Wall”; Victoria Keaton sang “The Call” from the movie Prince Caspian- The Chronicles of Narnia; Annie Charles that has performed over 25 years sang a gospel selection and last was Brittni Rae Mosher that is our current Maine Potato Queen had a gymnastics routine that ended our talent. This event would not have been possible without the assistance of Tammy Foster, O/A Counselor, and the student assistance with the Technical & Sound, Stephen Bell and the Host and Hostesses, Samantha Martin, Brandy Klemba and Nathaniel Knowles, the Color Guard and student talent performers. To close our program the Retiring of Colors was called upon and everyone had something to be grateful for that evening.
