City of Caribou, first city in Aroostook County to join Let’s Move Initiative efforts to fight obesity!

The Let’s Move Task Force made a presentation to the 1st City of Aroostook County, Caribou, ME that joined the initiative of joining as City/Town mentors and leaders to make an impact! The Power-Point and overview of the 1st annual kickoff of Let’s Move took place on January 12th from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at the Caribou Wellness/Recreation. The discussion ended with 12 middle school students singing a revised version of the “Man in the Mirror” requesting the City Mayor and Council to take part in our effort to fight obesity in children. Then each councilor, Mayor and City Manager was presented with their own Let’s Move shirt! The task force of the Let’s Move City Initiative include Pamela D. Buck , Business Community Liaison of Loring Job Corps Center, Kathy Mazzucchelli, Director of Caribou Recreation/Wellness, Kim Jones, Director of Healty You Programs at Cary Medical Center & Jenny Coon, Caribou Chamber Commerece Director. WAGM News and the Aroostook Republican were present to report this occurrence. WAGM aired the segment 1/9/2012 evening news and 01/10/2012 morning news. The Aroostook Republican had a news story in their next edition 01/18/2012.
