Long Beach Job Corps students participated with community members in the 7th Street Clean-Up in Long Beach on an early Saturday morning. The students were greeted by organizers and neighborhood residents bearing gloves, trash bags, and hot coffee for the volunteers.
Each group of 5 individuals was assigned an area to clean. The students followed their assigned route starting at the intersection of Orange Avenue and 7th Street, and picked up every paper, can, and candy wrapper in sight and more. In the process they met neighborhood residents who thanked them for their help.
The clean-up, in cooperation with Vice-Mayor Suja Lowenthal, the North Alamitos Beach Association, the Rose Park Neighborhood Association and Craftsman Village Historic District left the students satisfied about their contribution in making the neighborhood a cleaner place.
