On Friday, October 21, 2011, the Long Beach Job Corps Industrial Painting students, accompanied by their instructor, spent the day volunteering at one of Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore facilities in Norwalk, California. This was one of 4 Habitat for Humanity sites that the center partnered with for Make a Difference Day.
The students and instructor worked with ReStore members and moved and categorized items that are recycled, repurposed, and even new. The facility has gently used furniture, building supplies, rugs, and more. The instructor was so enthused, he would like to go back and work with the organization again.
