Jacqueline H. went from being an unemployed single parent to becoming a confident, self-sufficent role model for her child.

Jacqueline entered Long Beach Job Corps Center in March 2010 and has accomplished the following:

• Completed Business Technology Career Technical Training
• Became Microsoft Certified in Word
• Named Student of the Month in July 2010
• Completed Work-Based Learning
• Was hired by her Work-Based Learning site and is employed as a Receptionist at the YMCA in Long Beach

In her own words:

“Long Beach Job Corps staff members helped me in so many ways. For example, they helped me achieve my goals by focusing on my classes, helping me TABE out in Math and English, gave me tools, and told me  I could do it on my own. I am grateful for them helping me get on track! I didn’t think I  had time to be to be a mom, be able to get an education, and work. Every time I needed help, there was always a staff member, teacher, or counselor there trying to help me.”
