Two more Little Rock Students Leave for Advanced Training

Two more Little Rock students transitioned into the Advanced Training program at Los Angeles on Nov. 10, Audrey Paxton and Kontambriah Jackson. Both students made a positive impact on center while enrolled.

Audrey Paxton has been a passionate caring member of the Student Government while at Little Rock. She has helped motivate and coach others to complete the program and achieve their goals. Audrey completed the Nursing Assistance trade in August. Unsure of her plans when she completed the trade, she looked to the staff at Little Rock for guidance. After spending a few weeks discussing her options, Audrey became interested in the TCU program. Always having an interest in travel, she learned what the program had to offer and decided she would transition into Advanced Training. Once the decision was made, it took Audrey less than a week to have essays written and her application submitted, proving her commitment to success. She is pursuing the Airline Services Worker program.

Kontambriah Jackson also transferred to the Los Angeles Job Corps Center to begin the Airline Services Worker program through TCU/IAM. During the first week of the Office Administration trade, Kontambriah had already demonstrated excellent employability skills and determination to success. It was immediately decided she was an Advanced Training candidate. Throughout her time in the program, Kontambriah continued to achieve success. She was assigned to work with the Deputy Center Director Administrative Assistant, for her Work-Based Learning site and demonstrated yet again she was ready for a career. Despite setbacks and trials while enrolled, Kontambriah persevered and became trade complete in August. Although she sometimes struggled with her decision to leave Little Rock and transition into Advanced Training, she got on the plane Tuesday with tears in her eyes and determination in her mind.

Little Rock is proud to recognize both students for their achievements on center and look forward to hearing of their successes in Los Angeles.
