The Career Transition Readiness (CTR) Department provides students with the opportunity to gain additional means and skills to be self-sufficient once they graduate from our center. Eight students from Mrs. Allison Liddell’s CTR class visited the Arkansas Workforce Center to participate in an orientation and job search tutorial on January 13th. The Workforce Center is designed to meet the needs of both employers and job seekers.
The students sat in on a Q & A orientation session provided by the Youth Career Counselor that included tips and goal setting benchmarks that are essential for developing employability skills in the workforce. After orientation, students met the training instructor, searched for jobs and discussed some of their goals for employment. CTR Coordinator Ms. Donyale Lee, WBL Advisor Mr. John Bednara, and Mrs. Liddell were given the chance to assist the students with the off-center event. The Arkansas Workforce Center has welcomed Little Rock students to participate in future events including seminars and job fairs. Little Rock is excited about the outreach, and look forward to providing the students with additional off-center activities that will add to the resources they receive on center.
