POWER OF GIVING
Someone once said that there is no greater power in the world than being able to give freely of ones time, self, or money. As a part of Make a Difference Day the male students of Little Rock Job Corps collected over 100 pairs of tube socks to donate to St. Francis House. The mission of the St. Francis House is to provide a means of addressing the diverse, critical needs of the under-served, which are not adequately addressed by others in the community. St. Francis House serves as a shelter for homeless veterans and is an United Way Agency. The current emphasis of this agency is to provide immediate material assistance(food, medicine, shelter, clothing, transportation, and other such basic needs. Six members of the Male Leadership team presented the 100 pairs of tube socks collected by male students to Ms. Darlene Bourgeois, Executive Director. Ms. Bourgeois told the students, “Thank you so very much, our veterans appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness. For it is in your giving that you will receive.”
