The Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission (AMLKC) invited the Little Rock Job Corps Center to their annual day of service, “A Day On, Not a Day Off” MEGA KINGFEST on Jan. 18. The event was held at the Jack Stephens Center on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) campus. Little Rock Security & Safety Officers assisted with various tasks at the event.
AMLKC Executive Director DuShun Scarbrough had a host of well accomplished guest speakers. It was a star-studded event with daytime television’s Eric Braeden aka Victor Newman from The Young and the Restless serving as Master of Ceremonies. The keynote speaker was Arun Manilal Gandhi, South Africa Native and grandson of world-renowned legendary champion for nonviolence Mohandas K. Mahatma Gandi. Performances by gospel artist Melvin Williams and comedian Marlon Wayans were also enjoyed by the students.
