Detective Todd Hurd with the Little Rock Police Department was a special guest and shared his expertise on Gang Awareness with the Little Rock Job Corps Center staff during training on February 12th. Det. Hurd’s presentation focused on enhancing our ability to identify and deal with gangs issues and concerns. The training has made us more aware and easily able to recognize the following: gang signs, hand shakes, symbols, clothing, flag colors and community territories. We will use this knowledge and information to reinforce our zero tolerance for gangs and gang activity on our center.
Det. Hurd shows continuous support to our center with bringing awareness about gangs within our community. Detective Hurd is a Former Residential Treatment Counselor with Youth Home Inc. in Little Rock and Former Detention Officer with the North Little Rock Police Department who has a track record of servicing his community by working in law enforcement. He also served as a Patrol Officer with LRPD from 1992-1995. He then transferred to the Special Investigations Division in 1995 to present and specializes in street gangs
