On March 18, 24 Pre-90 day students joined CPP Instructors, Mrs. Dockery and Ms. Funches, for a team building hike at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Most students knew what to expect after hearing their peers talk about the first trip. The students were all excited and ready to make the journey for themselves. The students hiked the Rocky Valley Trail for 2.5 miles where they ended at a spot called the “Scenic Overlook” of the Arkansas River. They were exhausted after the long journey, but that feeling was short lived after they reached the top as a group and celebrated arriving with the view of the Arkansas River in the background. Several students voiced their opinions of the experience.
Here are a few of many comments.:
“My experience was good today. It was fun to me and I loved the view, because it was something I had never seen before with my own eyes.” – Miracle Johnson
“My experience on the trip was fun, educating, and beautiful. I was tired, but I enjoyed every step I took. Today, I faced one of my fears.” – Latavia Mitchell
“My experience today was alright, because I was able to work with others. I also talked to other students I usually do not talk to.” – Darrien Smith
