Little Rock JCC holds Tree Lighting Ceremony

Amidst the hustle and bustle that is taking place at the Little Rock Job Corps Center to prepare for the winter break, the students and staff came together for the first outdoor holiday tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 8. With nudging from Center Director, Angela Rackley, an 18-foot Fir tree was placed in the main courtyard and decorated to the delight of all.
Just at dusk, everyone gathered for the big event. Once the Center Director and Deputy Center Director pushed the plug, everyone joined in with their favorite carols such as “Jingle Bells” and “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” to mark the official start of the holiday season. The tree lighting is just one of many activities that will take place in the remaining days before the winter break to “lighten up” the mood of the center. The goal is also to encourage students and staff to embrace the opportunity to spread joy and goodwill throughout the holiday season and the new year to come.
