I was impressed with my visit to the HVAC shop recently. Upon my arrival to class all the students were engaged and actively involved in their learning environment. I was pleased to see that all the students had their safety equipment on and were in learning mode. Several students took time to show me projects they were working on and explain to me how they worked and are used. A lesson plan about the compressor, parts, types, style, and theory, was explained and demonstrated by Darius Rayford. The complete furnace controls testing table, was explained and demonstrated by Rafael Lyman, Shop Foreman. The split system was explained by Cameron Ball, Lead Tech. I was impressed with their knowledge of the material as well as the comfort in which the performed the demonstrations. It’s clear to me that they are receiving quality instruction and upon program completion employers will have solid competent students to select to employ.
