This month’s awards assembly held on Mar. 2 celebrated Women’s History, which is recognized during the month of March. Fifteen staff showcased influential women in American History. Staff from each department depicted the characteristics and personality of cultural icons in the areas of music, politics, acting, sports, and humanitarianism.
The ceremony included excerpts from poets Maya Angelou, (Felicia Edington), a mini dialogue from Sojourner Truth (Stephanie Branscomb), a Tina Turner reenactment (Kym Coleman) and last but not least a powerhouse performance and tribute to our Center Director, Angela Rackley, from the late great Whitney Houston (Stacy Atwater).
The abundance of talent and contributions of phenomenal “Girl Power” has left a legacy of strength, courage, and perseverance that has helped shaped our lives culturally, socially, and artistically.
