Advanced Training – Little Rock Student Mark Bennett

Mark Bennett left for Excelsior Springs, Missouri for Advanced Training on March 8.  He began the Advanced Transportation program through TCU/IAM. Mark has been waiting for his transfer date for quite some time, and he is definitely ready to begin the next chapter in his life.

Anyone who has truly interacted with Mark on a one-on-one level, knows that he has a truly unique personality in all the right ways. Mark can appear to be quiet and reserved from a distance, but he is a lively soul with a large presence when he gets to talking.

Mrs. Liddell helped Mark complete his Advanced Training applications. When speaking about Mark, she said, “Mark is such a character when you get to know him. You just have to take the time to get to know him and how he works as a person. He’s truly great and I have no doubt he will do great things in Advanced Training and go far in life.”

Mark chose to go into Office Administration for his trade at Little Rock Job Corps. During his time in Office Administration, Mark earned certifications in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as Telecom Etiquette, Petty Cash, and Alpha Filing. Mark excelled in his trade, and always stayed on task while with Ms. Westmoreland. Anyone who knows Ms. Westmoreland, knows she will truly miss Mark.

By serving as a representative for SGA, participating in the Y2Y campaign, and completing WBL with Mrs. Dockery, Mark helped out in several areas on center. He did so by knowing what he was capable of and not overdoing it. “Keep to yourself. Don’t get involved in anything you don’t think you can handle.”

Congratulations, Mark! You’ve made us very proud, and we know you’re going to great places!
