The Young Men of Standards (YMOS) introduce the new young men who completed leadership training and classes provided by Mr. Hargrove. The last session with the young men consisted of the Am I My Brother’s Keeper. President Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper initiative to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men. To ensure that all young people can reach their full potential. Through this initiative, the Administration is joining with cities and towns, businesses, and foundations who are taking important steps to connect young people to mentoring, support networks, providing skills they need to find a good job or go to college, and work their way into the middle class.
The YMOS will continue to provide programmingand support to the student and staff at KJCC. Starting in December the YMOS will be busy and very involved with various positive initiatives on the KJCC campus. They will sponsor Mentoring Mondays with new students to support retention, tutoring sessions for students needing extra assistance with classes, and will provide a female pageant to get the female students involve in positive programming on center. The ultimate goal that the YMOS are working toward is to create a positive student driven culture on center to assist with a creative and exciting learning environment.
