On June 29,  2016, Kittrell Job Corps Center held a Leadership Summit. The event was held in the gymnasium. Mr. Chuck Gale was the facilitator for the team building event. During the event student leaders participated in highly interactive team building activities that empowered them to higher levels of performance and to deliver better bottom-line results.  Lauren Thaxton, Unity Dorm Leader, stated, “This training allowed me to reflect on why I’m here at Kittrell and to sharpen my awareness of my own leadership skills and abilities.”

The purpose of the Leadership Training is to help students to understand the importance of being a fair and honest team player, to acquire real life skills for working with individuals and groups by communication, listening, participation, presentation, delegation and brainstorming. In  essence, for students to better understand the principles of leadership that will lead them to being an effective leader, delegating responsibilities effectively and respecting and accepting responsibility from higher positions is vital.
