Kittrell Job Corps Center students attended the Greater Refuge Church Community Day event held on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Students attended a “Dress for Success” Seminar and participated in a variety of motivational workshops. Student Lijakia Wiggins expressed, “I appreciate the opportunity to attend this Community Day event. The workshops were educational and very helpful. It has helped me to become a better person in terms of better understanding and getting along with others. During the church services, I felt that the preacher was speaking directly to me. I plan to work on becoming a better leader, so I can help my friends who are struggling.” Attendees also enjoyed a delicious hot dog luncheon. Students and staff took this opportunity to meet other youths and provide program information to recruit potential applicants.
