Students and staff conducted a litter sweep/cleanup at Fox Pond Park in Henderson, N.C. as one of its Global Youth Service Day activities. They removed trash from around the park and pond areas. The Henderson-Vance Recreation and Parks Director was very pleased with the students participation and quality service provided. Students were invited to participate in its Basketball Skills and Drill Clinic on Wednesday nights from May 4, 2016 –July 20, 2016. The clinic is designed to provide a positive outlet where youth and teens can learn the necessary basketball skills. Career Preparation Period student, Kristal Boyce explained “my participation in this volunteering event has taught me not to throw trash anywhere. It just creates work for someone else.”
