October 23, 2010, Kittrell Job Corps Center students and staff joined an estimated four million people participating simultaneously in Make a Difference Day activities nationwide by volunteering to help Granville County Habitat for Humanity in building an energy efficiency three bedroom, two bathroom brick home for a needy family. Job Corps students also mentor children at the Franklin Vance Warren Opportunity Head start, prepare and serve lunch to the needy and homeless at ACTS Soup Kitchen and conducted a beautification project. A total of 44 students and 7 staff took part in the activities.
