In the month of November Kittrell Job Corps Center recognized Native American Heritage Month. An assembly was held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. During the assembly the guest speaker Marty Richardson from the Haliwa-Saponi Indian tribe provided cultural information on the Native American Heritage and Customs, at the end of the assembly the students got to view Native American artifacts and traditional dress prepared by the guest speaker. The center’s students decorated their floor’s bulletin boards with Native American decorations and historical events 1st place went to floor 6C of the female dorm. The students also made moccasin, pouches, dream catchers, and pendants for arts and crafts projects.
