Kittrell Job Corps Center Culinary Arts students and Instructor had the opportunity to visit New Jersey for the Philadelphia Region Job Corps 2011 Culinary Expo and Iron Chef Competition June 13, 2011-June 17, 2011. The competition took place at the Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing New Jersey. Kittrell Culinary Arts team came in first place in Time Management, First place Sanitation and Food Safety, Third place in Food Knowledge, Fourth place in Mise En Place, Fourth place in Food Originality, Fourth place in Food Preparation, Fifth place in Best Dressed and Fifth place for their 100% edible Centerpiece. Because of the expertise of the students they were offered guaranteed placement in advanced training at the Woodland Job Corps Advance Training Center, in Woodland Maryland.
