“Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam, where the deer and the antelope play; Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, and the sky is not cloudy all day.” These are the lyrics to, “Home on the Range”, a popular American song that evoke thoughts of fields of buffalo grass and tumble weeds, and it was these type of thoughts that the Facilities Maintenance Trade, at the Kittrell Job Corps were thinking this week, as they continued with beautifying the center by planting Buffalo Grass, near the cafeteria. Thanks to the center’s com-munity partnership with US Lawns, the FM students continue to get, “their hands dirty”, and gain valuable landscaping experience, to go along with the things they’ve learned in their trade. This is the second center beautification project that the FM students have collaborated with US Lawns on, with the first being the installation of Tall Fescue Sod, in front of the Administration Building. Thanks to our FM Trade, our students can re-ally feel, “Home on the Range”, at Kittrell.
