Representative Toohil Keynote Speaker at Keystone

The Keystone Job Corps Center will host one of 124 graduation ceremonies nationwide on August 30,2011.  The occasion marks the signing of the Economic Opportunity Act by Lyndon B. Johnson on the same date in 1964, creating Job Corps.  The graduation will take place in the Daniel J. Flood Recreation Complex at 2:30pm. Congressman Flood who represented the 11th Congressional district at that time was instrumental in bring Job Corps to Northeastern Pennsylvania.

State Representative Tarah Toohil of Pennsylvania’s 116th legislative district will deliver the keynote address to the graduates.  She is a member of several professional organizations in PA and in Harrisburg serves on the House Judiciary, Health, Local Government and Urban Affairs committees along with membership on the Welfare Policy Task Force.

Representative Toohil a local attorney grew up in Drums, PA, where Keystone is located.  She did undergraduate work at Northeastern University and obtained her law degree from Penn State Dickinson School of Law.

The center is honored to have Representative Toohil participate in their Commencement Day celebration.
