Graduates of the Keystone Job Corps Center’s licensed practical nursing (LPN) program are getting jobs and advancing their careers. The LPN program which began in 2003, has graduated seventy students with the next class scheduled to graduate on August 31st.
Jen C. has built on the training she received at the center. While working as an LPN she continued her studies and is now an registered nurse (RN). Mara D. who wasn’t sure what she wanted to do when she graduated from high school inquired about Keystone’s program was accepted and graduated in 2007. She is currently studying to become an RN and is working in the medical-surgical department at a local hospital.
With the nursing shortage the LPN program is helping meet the demand for skilled nurses and is providing an opportunity for students to pursue a life long career.
