The modernization of the Keystone Job Corps Center’s campus continued with a dining hall dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony on May 20th. Several local as well as DOL and MTC officials along with dozens of community supporters assembled to make the occasion memorable.
The new 18,000 square foot structure will seat 350 students, as opposed to the old cafeteria that seated only 230. Currently the center has three lunch periods to accommodate 600 students. The extra seating will reduce lunch periods to two, which will allow for more efficient student scheduling.
Plans for the old dining hall include converting it into a career preparation, security and facility maintenance classrooms, along with a computer lab.
