A little more than a week before the actual holiday, students and staff gathered in the cafeteria for the Joliet Job Corps Center’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon.
It was quite a spread: fried chicken, collard greens, macaroni and cheese and banana pud
“Other than providing students with a great meal that was out of the ordinary, we wanted students to feel at home,” said Janice Crayton, Food Services Manager. “We wanted to do our best to create that environment here. What better way to do that than with food?”
The meal received rave reviews from students and staff. Student Rashad Brown had seconds of banana pudding.
“The first one was the warm up. Now I’m ready for the game,” he said, joking.
