Here at Joliet Job Corps Center, the return from winter break has been a time of new adventure for Pharmacy Technician and Certified Nursing Assistant completer Julia Bennett.
Julia recently left the Center for Advanced Training. She is enrolled in the Licensed Practical Nursing program at the Denison Job Corps Center in Denison, Iowa.
The Denison Job Corps Center is partnered with a college that is approved by the Iowa Board of Nursing and by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. All grad-uates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensing Examination for Practical Nursing, which makes them eligible to work in all 50 states.
Julia is a great representation of how determined and motivated our students are at Joliet Job Corps Center. During her time at the Center, Julia not only completed Pharmacy Tech and the Certified Nursing Assistant program, but she also completed a six-week pharmacy internship with our Work-Based Learning partner Basinger’s Pharmacy.
“Julia was very focused, a natural class leader and she never lost sight of her long-term goal of entering the Practical Nursing program,” said Candy Gholston, her instructor.
