Food Services Manager Janice Crayton met with the Student Food Service Committee on April 7 to discuss meals on Center.
To get the meeting started, Ms. Crayton distributed a menu from another Adams and Associates Center to demonstrate what was being served elsewhere.
Some of the students expressed frustration because though they might be first in line at mealtime, the fruit and tuna salad would be gone by the time they were served. Ms. Crayton explained that she was aware of the issue and had decided to serve those items in single-portion cups so there would be enough for everyone.
The students also asked why soup wasn’t served more often. Ms. Crayton told the group that she would try to offer soup more than once a week.
The students also requested more seasonings, and they learned that some already had been ordered.
Ms. Crayton also told the students that cartons of orange juice were available at 8 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays during the continental breakfast.
At the end of the meeting, Ms. Crayton thanked the students for their input and requested their help with housekeeping in the cafeteria. In turn, the students thanked her for the snacks she had provided.
