A special group of students at the Joliet Job Corps Center recently enjoyed a pizza party with the directors.
The directors wanted to thank them for a job well done.
Students Jada Pickens, Leianna Sullivan, Sam Lewis and Jennifer Jemison had each done a good deed or something nice for a staff member, and they were rewarded with the party. Jada had helped staff member Marcus Cage with a group of new students, and Leianna had assisted Safety Officer Morgan McFarland in the cafeteria during lunchtime.
They gathered on Wednesday in the Center Director’s Conference Room for two kinds of pizza, chocolate chip cookies and soft drinks.
During the late lunch, the group chatted and joked about the upcoming Valentine’s Day weekend. The students also discussed their plans for the future.
Sam wants to go to Advanced Training at the Gary Job Corps Center in Gary, Texas, to learn to be an electrical lineman. Jada plans to enroll in Chicago’s Malcolm X Community College. Leianna will either join the U.S. Army or go to college, and Jennifer is going to pursue an Ad
