Joliet Students and Staff Reach Out to Less Fortunate

SGA sponsored a center wide Food Drive for the Month November 2010.
SGA set a goal of feeding 50 families for Thanksgiving. The students were
ambitions about giving to the less fortunate. Students brought in juices,
cakes, can goods, etc. They wanted to make sure that they gave food items
that they would eat themselves.

Joliet Job Corp staff was big contributors as well. From the staff, SGA received 8 turkeys, and 746 food items. SGA decided to make the Food Drive a little bit more interesting. Each department was asked to participate in friendly competition to see which department would donate
the most items. With a whopping 277 food items, the Finance and Administration Department won the completion and received the Gold Star Award from SGA. All food items were given to Morning Star Mission located  in Joliet.
