Charles Betts and 12 security students from Joliet Job Corps attended Veterans Day ceremonies at the Will County Courthouse and were featured in the Nov. 12 Herald News.
This is the second year Betts has taken students to the ceremony, which is well attended. The students met many political officials – Will County Executive Larry Walsh, Mayor Art Schultz, City Councilmen Tom Giarrante and Jan Quillman.
Security students also picked out veterans in the crowd to hand-deliver cards made by other Joliet Job Corps students. They had a chance to meet with many veterans who attended the ceremony.
Mr. Betts and students Juan Najera and Danny Johnson were featured in the photo. They were being given flags by Debbie Smuthers of Operation Care Package.
