The Joliet Job Corps Center’s Aug. 12 Commencement Ceremony honored 94 students who successfully completed the program.

After the graduates marched into the Center’s large auditorium, Deputy Center Director Gloria Whatley urged each one to be a good citizen and to continue contributing to the community.

“You proved today by being a graduate that you can get beyond the obstacles,” she said. “We know your journey will continue because the future belongs to you.”

Commencement Speaker R. Dale Evans, a well-known community activist in Joliet, thanked the students for their hard work at the Center.
