Joliet Job Corps Center student know what makes a dog’s tail wag.
All it takes is a little love and attention.
Led by Business Community Liaison Stewart Warren, a group of students went on March 19 to Cache Creek Animal Rescue in New Lenox, Illinois, to volunteer. They walked dogs, played with the cats and went on poop patrol around the shelter’s grounds.
“We appreciate the students coming here,” said Cyndi Heiden, a volunteer at the shelter. And the students really enjoyed spending time with the animals. “It was an exciting experience. We got out of our comfort zone,” said Kiara Pittman, one of the students who volunteered.
