The Career Transition Readiness students at the Joliet Job Corps Center are working diligently to obtain employment before separating from the program.
A group of 13 students recently visited the Goodwill Workforce Center, commonly called a One-Stop Career Center. It is another tool that is available for our students as they prepare to enter the workforce.
One-Stops are designed to provide a full range of assistance under one roof to job seekers. Like Job Corps, many of these centers are funded by the Department of Labor, and they offer training referrals, career counseling, job listings and other services.
The staff at the One-Stop gave a brief presentation outlining the different options and arranged to have the students receive job leads via e-mail and text.
The students were very excited to have another resource to utilize on their road to success. One-Stop career services are available in many offices across the country and at www.careeronestop.org
