Students at the Job Corps Center in Joliet, Ill., were greeted by U.S. Sen. Richard Durbin, and State Sen. A.J. Wilhelmi on Tuesday to recognize their ranking among the top five (out of 122) Job Corps Centers nationally. Joliet is the highest performing center in the Chicago Region with an overall rating of 109.2 percent. The center exceeds expectation and goals in the following areas: percentage of students obtaining a GED/HSD, career technical training graduates, literacy and numeracy learning gains, the job training placement rate, the graduate placement and wage rates, six month follow-up placement and wage rates.
