FDR Dorm Activities at the Joliet Job Corps Center

The residents of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Dorm enjoyed a variety of activities in February.

There is an hour-long, student-led Bible study every Thursday night beginning at 7 p.m. Students Tim Erhardt and Eric Henning lead the group in Bible-related discussions that help the students face life’s difficulties.

On Feb. 23, the students tried to choose the best rappers on the two male dorms. FDR Dorm Supervisor Kevin Dorris urged them to perform for each other to see who had the most skills. After the informal competition, Mr. Dorris was very impressed by the musical talent on Center.

To finish the month, the FDR residents held a Street Fighter V tournament. Student Jacob White

FDR Dorm residents tried to determine who was the best rapper at the Joliet Job Corps Center.

head hosted the video game contest and provided the system, controllers and the game for everyone to use while they played. Sixteen students duked it out for more than two hours. In the end, Richard Whitehead was the champion and took home a gift card as the prize.
