The Joliet Job Corps Center is celebrating two students who recently completed their Culinary Arts training and now have moved to an Advanced Training Program.Vincent Kerr and Clifford Young will have many new and exciting challenges as they increase their skill sets at the Treasure Island Job Corps Center. Vincent is a native of Dallas, Texas, and he obtained his GED while on Center as well as becoming certified in ServeSafe Mangerial, CPR/First Aid, Sanitation and Customer Service. Clifford is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and he graduated from Chicago International Charter High School. Clifford is certified in ServeSafe Mangerial, CPR/First Aid, Sanitation and Customer Service. He also was named the Center’s Prom King and was chosen to be JFK Dorm Secretary and a CPP mentor.Culinary Arts Instructor Cindy Klayman praised the students’ dedication to the program. Clifford was always the first to volunteer to do any project, she said. Vincent was meticulous and always made sure that projects were done correctly, she added. The staff and students of the Joliet Job Corps Center are extremely proud of Vincent and Clifford.
